QCR GLS1 Shortlisted for a New Product Award at Glee Trade Show

The GLS1 Glass Crushing machine has been shortlisted at the New Product Awards at the Glee Trade Show in Birmingham which is run in association with the Garden Trade News publication.

The winner is decided by a panel of expert judges who award the best products in their category based on innovation, saleability and aesthetics. At the shortlisting stage held on Tuesday 27^th June, the team of judges were intrigued how such a compact machine could help businesses in the garden centre industry save money on the cost of disposing of their glass waste produced in their onsite catering outlets.

Our Waste Experts were invited to make a live pitch to the judges and the Glee audience to explain how this recycling machine can help businesses to save money and space. We explained how the rising cost of glass recycling bin emptying puts financial pressure on many Garden Centres as they produce lots of space-hungry glass waste within their onsite cafes and restaurants. Garden Centres can struggle to find additional space for bins on site, particularly when the space is needed for bulky deliveries of compost, sheds, outdoor furniture, and other seasonal goods. With a glass crushing machine such as the GLS1, glass bottle waste can be crushed, significantly reducing the number of bins required on site.

Due to their seasonal trading cycles, Garden Centres can benefit enormously from utilizing an onsite recycling machine to save money on their waste costs.
