FAQs
How Much Space Is Needed for a Vertical Cardboard Baler?
Most vertical balers need at least 1m² of floorspace. If you plan to install a baler inside a building, you must also check you have sufficient ceiling height to accomodate the rams fitted on top of the compaction chamber. A professional baler installer like QCR will always conduct a free pre-delivery site survey to check you have enough space.
Do You Offer Trial Periods in Liverpool?
Yes. Before committing long-term to hiring a waste baler for cardboard, Liverpool businesses can test the equipment with our free, flexible trial service or a short-term hire arrangement. Free trials offer a risk-free way to assess the performance and ease of use of a baler in your actual working environment, making them a great option for growing businesses who have not used a baler before. Following a free on-site survey, our experts will deliver and install your trial baler at your convenience. At the end of the period, you can choose from a variety of hire options, or we'll collect for free.
Can Wet or Damp Cardboard Be Used in a Baler?
While wet or damp cardboard can be put into a baler, it is not ideal to do so. Moisture makes the material weaker, so it's harder to compact and more likely to fall apart. It's also heavier, which means both your team and your baler will have to work harder, and it's prone to contamination by mould and bacteria. For these reasons, it'll be worth less to recyclers, or may be rejected entirely. It's best to keep your cardboard dry before you bale it. You can do this by storing it indoors in covered cages or bins. If moisture gets in, let it dry out before baling, or bale the wet material separately.
