Recycling for the automotive sector
Businesses within the automotive sector are using QCR to save money on waste and to increase work space. The following case study is an example of this.
Midlands car repair centre saves £1,500 per annum with QCR
This company have provided accident repair services for a large part of the Midlands for over 25 years. They have invested in a state of the art bodyshop, equipment and a highly trained technical team who undertake repairs to any make of vehicle. Skips regularly overflowed causing mess and wasted time clearing up the yard. Cardboard and plastic was a huge concern and both ended up in the general waste. All materials had considerable disposal costs.
We offered them a free survey on all their waste streams. A QCR 305 baler has been installed and linked to their existing air supply. All cardboard and paper is baled together and plastic is baled separately. Revenue is achieved on all baled material. The remainder of waste is compacted in an XP200 which again is linked to their existing air supply. Skips have been reduced from three to one, freeing up more car parking as well as reducing costs.
Financial savings are in excess of £1,500 per year and that is after the rental of the equipment is paid for. The workshop floor is now always clear and operational savings are considerable. A full recycling regime is in place with bumpers and hard plastics being recycled too.
