Practically Pink in Everyway

13th Dec 2017

Deer Park Country House Hotel in Devon has been a customer of ours for many years so when they asked us for a pink baler we, of course, said yes!

As runners up in the 2017 AA Eco Hotel of the Year, Deer Park promises to protect our planet in all ways they can. 18th Century Georgian mansion hotel, which is set in 80 acres, strives for excellence in everything they do and their recycling efforts are no different. For the last 5 years they have recycled all their cardboard in a QCR 102 baler and their glass bottles in the QCR GC140 glass crusher which ensures nothing is sent to landfill.

They asked us if we could turn their recycling equipment pink to match their branding. Whilst supplying bespoke waste equipment is not uncommon for QCR – A pink machine request was a first for us. Naturally, we jumped on this opportunity.

Using their brand colour reference, we matched it to the RAL paint colour chart to find the perfect pink match and then we transformed our already beautiful grey and silver baler to the prettiest of pinks.

All cardboard at Deer Park is baled and taken away for free by a local Devon recycler. No recycling bins are required, saving money, space and time on waste cardboard.

As a constant producer of empty glass bottles, Deer Park also use a QCR Glass Crusher to dramatically reduce glass volumes. This again is saving the hotel money, space and time.

And you may have noticed the unlevel ground beneath the baler and glass crusher. An uneven floor is no problem for the team at QCR and is simply fixed with a tried and tested ancient practice, otherwise known as a piece of wood! … You wouldn’t believe the places we’ve installed a baler… On a roof, in a wine vault, sheds, cellars, ships to name a few.

Deer Park Country House Hotel can look forward to another five years of less bins and skips but with a pink twist this time around! So next time you visit the Deer Park for a Cream Tea, Dinner or Tree House experience; ask to see the Pink Beauties that help them around the back… They are truly little rays of recycling sunshine!
